The Crew

Tracy Managing Editor/Contributor:  Tracy is the founder of LWM. She is a working teacher momma to her daughter Abigail, born Nov. 2009.  Tracy was born and raised in South Florida. She studied Journalism and Mass Media at New York University, then moved across the country to the PNW. This move and giant change was spurred on after she became an eyewitness to the 9/11 attacks. She knew life could change at a moment’s notice and felt that she needed to make changes to find her true calling.

Once she fell in love with residing in Washington State, and fell in love with her now husband, she decided to go back to school to become a Secondary English Teacher. She began teaching in 2007 and has nearly years of working momma status under her belt. During this time, Tracy began thinking about creating a working mom resource blog, and decided to enlist some of her bloggy friends to help out. Because, as all of us working momma’s know, having a little help can make the journey so much easier. Thus, Liberating Working Moms: One Voice at a Time was born. She also tweets as  @wa_tracy, where she is often venting out her working momma and toddler momma woes.

rice043-webKatherine Merchandising/Marketing/Contributor: Katherine is a full time working mama, a slightly obsessed list maker and a self-proclaimed coffee addict who loves to cook and spend as much time as possible outside. She’s married to a handsome, hardworking man that she’s known her whole life. Together they balance two demanding careers, 12 acres, a lovey wolf-dog and two girls—Rylee (born May 2008), a feisty red-headed country girl and Reese (born July 2012), the sweetest little snuggle bug that ever lived. Through it all, they just try and remember that it might not always be blue skies, but there’s always a silver lining.

She blogs through her lunch hour over at Somewhere in the Middle and tweets between meetings at @lilmissyrsmama.

Brandy Graphics Diva/Contributor: Brandy juggles the world of working mamahood by being a software developer by day and a tickle monster by night. She holds down her NC  fort with her gaggle of boys: dashing husband Kevin (married 2005), crazy son Landon (born 2009), squishy newborn Oliver (born 2012) and a goofy mutt, Jack Sparrow. She fell in love with blogging because she wanted to help other new moms like her and has been blogging the 4 years since about everything from her experience with postpartum anxiety to how to feed her toddler something other than chicken nuggets every night.

You can find out more about her and the Mann clan over at mannlymama and she tweets incessantly at the same @mannlymama.

Shannon Contributor: Shannon is a graduate of University of South Florida, a high school English teacher, and an aspiring author. On June 21, 2008, she married her high school sweetheart and on April 23, 2011, she and her husband met the love of their lives: a son named William. Shannon is currently learning to balance teaching 115 teenagers and being William’s mommy with the things she enjoys most: family time, photography, good books, animals, sweet treats, music, movies and sports. She hopes one day to work as a full-time published writer.

You can find her blogging at Momma Bird and tweeting as @bluebird_momma.

Jamie Contributor: Jamie is a thirty-something, WAHM, after battling infertility.  Her trio, Bo (5), and twin girls, Clara and Anna (3) ensure that every day is a new adventure.  When she isn’t chasing her children, Jamie teaches for three online universities and the local community college in addition to freelancing.  While many will say that she has the best of both worlds, she’s quick pipe-up that being a WAHM isn’t always peachy-keen.  Trying to balance near full-time motherhood with what feels like more than full-time employment finds Jamie questioning her sanity regularly.  Yoga pants and flip-flops are her style of choice and a particularly rough day is likely to end with a sleeve of Thin Mints and a shot of vanilla vodka in her Diet Coke.  As a wanna-be runner, she’s struggling to lose the last 15 pounds – here’s a hint, it probably has something to do with those Thin Mints!

Jamie chronicles the adventures of her kiddos at Sticky Feet: Part Deux, and shares recipes at Five Wooden Spoons and tweets at @jamieweitl.

Diana Contributor: Diana is a WAHM, who recently realized this working status as she finds herself working 40+ hours a week blogging and freelance writing. Originally from Colorado, Diana and her husband Sam find themselves stationed around the US as a Military family. Currently they reside in El Paso, Texas and eagerly await where there next adventure will begin.

Diana blogs on raising a toddler daughter, the loss of her twin boys, and their families’ adoption in progress on the aptly named Hormonal Imbalances, as well as Babble.  She’s been syndicated on BlogHer and The Huffington Post. Smaller glimpses into her day are on Twitter and Facebook, and on Pinterest.

Suzanne Contributor: Suz began blogging in January of 2008 as a way to keep up with books, recipes, & travels: the then treats in her life as a newlywed. The years since have added treats such as TTC, infertility, dabbles at photography, a triplet-turned-twin pregnancy, & life back at work full time as an insurance underwriter while being a full time Mommy to preemies Zach & Lucy. Suz, her husband of five years, J, the babies & their 18 pound Moekitty, live, work & play in NC.

You can keep up with Suz & her treats at Suz’s Treats, tweeting through the day as @suzstreats, pinning her dream meals on Pinterest, & making the world cuter as she shares babies photos on Instagram.

jenn bio picJenn Contributor: Jenn spends her days in the never boring world of Human Resources. When not mediating employees she’s planning company events and checking off yet another to-do list. Jenn also runs a successful family photography business in the Portland, OR area. At home she is obsessed with crock pot cooking and avoiding laundry, and is forever grateful for a husband that likes to do laundry. 3 year old Oskar (Ozzie) is usually found bossing the dog around or finding things to climb on that he’s already been told to get off of 100x.

Jenn has been blogging over at The Elsewhere Blog for almost 4 years and can be found posting lots of #officefashionshow pics on Instagram and Twitter as @oskarsmomma.
