Tracy Managing Editor/Contributor: Tracy is the founder of LWM. She is a working teacher momma to her daughter Abigail, born Nov. 2009. Tracy was born and raised in South Florida. She studied Journalism and Mass Media at New York University, then moved across the country to the PNW. This move and giant change was spurred on after she became an eyewitness to the 9/11 attacks. She knew life could change at a moment’s notice and felt that she needed to make changes to find her true calling.
Once she fell in love with residing in Washington State, and fell in love with her now husband, she decided to go back to school to become a Secondary English Teacher. She began teaching in 2007 and has nearly years of working momma status under her belt. During this time, Tracy began thinking about creating a working mom resource blog, and decided to enlist some of her bloggy friends to help out. Because, as all of us working momma’s know, having a little help can make the journey so much easier. Thus, Liberating Working Moms: One Voice at a Time was born. She also tweets as @wa_tracy, where she is often venting out her working momma and toddler momma woes.
Brandee Assistant Editor/Contributor: Brandee is a marketing professional distracted by mommy blogging, with a passion for writing and a lust for shoes. Mama to her 1.5 year old daughter Everly, Brandee spends her days racing between work and home, precariously balancing the role of the working mother. She calls herself “driven”, which is really just a cover-up for the fact that she’s extremely high strung.
Lover of wine, cupcakes and travel, Brandee enjoys live music, cooking and fashion (sans baby snot if possible). Born and raised in Vancouver, Canada, (eh!), she has a degree in Criminology and Psychology, and has probably even taken a marketing course or two. Former party girl turned oh so responsible mother, you can catch her (sometimes fueled by wine) tweets as @Babe_Chilla or blogging at Chill Mama Chill
Katherine Merchandising/Contributor: Katherine is a full time working mama, a slightly obsessed list maker and a self-proclaimed coffee addict who loves to cook and spend as much time as possible outside. She’s married to a handsome, hardworking man that she’s known her whole life. Together they balance two demanding careers, a three year old red-headed country girl, a lovey wolf-dog and 12 acres. Through it all, they just try and remember that it might not always be blue skies, but there’s always a silver lining.
She blogs through her lunch hour over at Somewhere in the Middle and tweets between meetings at @lilmissyrsmama.
Brandy Graphics Diva/Contributor: Brandy juggles the world of working mamahood by being a software developer by day and a tickle monster by night. She holds down her NC fort with her gaggle of boys: dashing husband Kevin (married 2005), crazy son Landon (born 2009), goofy mutt Jack Sparrow and a fetus lovingly called ‘Dolphin’ due to arrive July 2012. She fell in love with blogging because she wanted to help other new moms like her and has been blogging the 4 years since about everything from her experience with postpartum anxiety to how to feed her toddler something other than chicken nuggets every night.
You can find out more about her and the Mann clan over at mannlymama and she tweets incessantly at the same @mannlymama.
Shannon Contributor: Shannon is a graduate of University of South Florida, a high school English teacher, and an aspiring author. On June 21, 2008, she married her high school sweetheart and on April 23, 2011, she and her husband met the love of their lives: a son named William. Shannon is currently learning to balance teaching 115 teenagers and being William’s mommy with the things she enjoys most: family time, photography, good books, animals, sweet treats, music, movies and sports. She hopes one day to work as a full-time published writer.
You can find her blogging at Momma Bird and tweeting as @bluebird_momma.
Alicia Contributor: Veteran mom of three, rookie blogger and massive champion of the overshare. Alicia married Ryan in 2005, then proceeded to build an army of estrogen with three daughters in six years: Isabella, Annika & Maelle. She spends her days as an Office Administrator, being selfishly ambitious from 9-5 and swoops in to home base for tea parties, mending broken hearts and breaking up cat fights. Alicia can’t believe her luck with this blogging community she’s found and is thrilled when her simple words can inspire or make you laugh. Most of all, it’s the greatest luxury to read something and think to yourself, “…and I thought I was the only one…”
You can find her riding the hormone train over at life with ladies and keep your guard up on Twitter for #urinaltweets with @mrshiggison
Law Momma Contributor: Law Momma is a newly single mom to 2.5 year old “J.” By day, she’s an attorney and by night, a jungle gym/chef/housecleaner/
Born and raised in North Carolina, Law Momma is a UNC grad and a die-hard Tar Heel fan even though she currently lives in the booming metropolis of Macon, Georgia. There are currently only four things she can’t live without: wine, caffeine, her iPhone, and her son. Everything else is just frosting.
You can find her blogging over at Spilled Milk {and other atrocities} and tweeting as @lawmomma77.
Jamie Contributor: Jamie is a thirty-something, WAHM, after battling infertility. Her trio, Bo (4), and twin girls, Clara and Anna (2) ensure that every day is a new adventure. When she isn’t chasing her children, Jamie teaches for three online universities and the local community college in addition to freelancing. While many will say that she has the best of both worlds, she’s quick pipe-up that being a WAHM isn’t always peachy-keen. Trying to balance near full-time motherhood with what feels like more than full-time employment finds Jamie questioning her sanity regularly. Yoga pants and flip-flops are her style of choice and a particularly rough day is likely to end with a sleeve of Thin Mints and a shot of vanilla vodka in her Diet Coke. As a wanna-be runner and yogi, she’s struggling to lose the last 15 pounds – here’s a hint, it probably has something to do with those Thin Mints!
Jamie is a memoir blogger over at Sticky Feet: Part Deux and tweets at @jamieweitl.
