Working With Style {Shopping Your Closet Edition}

Since my last WWS, the nursing mom edition, my style hasn’t changed much. And even though Jenn’s WWS post encouraged me to find the dresses in my closet, I still usually stick with pants & tops or sweaters.

But since my LOFT sprees early in December, I’ve, without really making a conscious decision to do so, been on a shopping freeze. No new tops, shoes, pants or dresses have been bought for me. I’ve been shopping my closet instead.

Dark grey top; Belk. Grey & black stripe pants; H&M.

Because I’ve lost close to 70 {!!} pounds since giving birth in May {thank you breastfeeding!}, there are shirts & pants that had been stuffed away as being way too small that suddenly fit again. I’m discovering three-year old dress shirts {no iron Lands End FTW} that I hope are still in style because I’m loving how they work on my new curves.

Green botto down; Lands End. Pink nursing tank; Target. Skinny jeans; Old Navy.

Until I stop breastfeeding & see where my weight ends up plateauing, I’m going to try to stick with my hold on shopping. Rediscovering old favorites has been a treat!

Are there pieces in your wardrobe you’ve overlooked & rediscovered?  And as always, we’d love for you to link-up your Working With Style posts too!

We  have a special WWS and we’d love to have a lot of you participating. We are calling it Working With Style {Kid’s Edition}. We’ll be showing you our kid’s “work style,” as they do work hard at daycare, preschool, hanging out with grandma, and time home with working mommas.  This special edition with run on Monday March 4th, and we’d love for you to link up. Do your kids come home in a different outfit than they left in? We’d love to see that too! We can’t wait to check out all of your posts!

    I was just going to say exactly what Shannon did…I LOVE that bangle! I also really love quality, classic pieces that last a long time and don’t go out of style like your button down. My closet is made up of a lot of those pieces. You are looking fantastic, mama!! :)

    Congrats on the weight loss too. I cannot wait to shop out of my closet again! I have a friend who is a teacher and does this every fall when the school year starts up. As for me, I haven’t lost all of the baby weight yet so I am limited in what I can choose from and have been adding jewelry and scarves to change up my outfits. I refuse to buy new clothes when I am determined to the lose the weight. And I don’t think button downs will ever go out of style.

    Thanks Madonna. Jewelry & scarfs are my favorites too. Nothing takes a boring outfit & makes it fun & me feel happy than a bright scarf or signature piece of jewelry.

    I loved that when I started losing weight I was shopping my closet and rediscovering clothes. But now, I really need new clothes as most of my work tops aren’t too flattering anymore. And yes, congrats on all that weight loss! And I love the green shirt/pink nursing tank combination!

    Lookin’ good! Watch your intake when you stop nursing though! I was at my skinniest while nursing my twins but as soon as I stopped I gained a ton of weight quickly because I didn’t adjust what I was consuming. Big mistake!

    Jamie, I was talking about just that with my coworkers yesterday. I think as I start to wean, I’m going to have to start retraining my body/mind to eat less. No more 3-5 cookies a day at work for “snack”! :-P
