I may have sent Tracy a text on a Tuesday asking her to remind me when I was scheduled to host “Working with Style” next. And I may have said a bad word or two when she responded with the 21st. Two things went through my mind. One: I thought I had at least another week to plan out some really cute outfit. All this week I was saving my “cute” slacks and what not for the trade show I’m working at right now as you’re reading this. And two: I wanted to take real photos, with my real camera. When we first started this series, I did take real photos. With my real camera. When we first started this series, I also only had one kid. And I didn’t leave & get home in the dark. But I digress.
Lindsey & I already had plans to have lunch the day after Tracy dropped the 21-bomb on me so I decided that since Lindsey is a working-mama-blogger like me, she’d totally be down for snapping some photos of me.
Standing outside a restaurant, on one of the busiest roads in town, during the lunch hour, is nothing short of awkward. But then again, I’ve never been one to shy away from the awkward {hellloo, I had a boyfriend break up with me in the 8th grade because I was too “weird”}.
This is nothing that many would consider “fashionable.” Most, actually all, of these clothing items are a minimum of 4 years old. Belt, scarf & earrings are from Target. My jeans are from the Gap. And the top is from Old Navy. Not that any of that matters because yea, 4 years old. Whatever.
Anyway, my point is this. It doesn’t matter if your photos are taken in the bathroom at your work or in your backyard with a self-timer. It {clearly} doesn’t matter if your clothes are brand new or {ahem} older. When juggling kids & careers and budgets, sometimes there’s just no time or money to spend on fancy clothes or fancy photos. We get it. We totally get it. Just have fun with it. And link-up with us!

And for fun, I thought I’d throw in some of our outtakes. Because really, when you’re standing in front of a restaurant, on one of the busiest roads in our town, during the lunch hour, you’ve gotta OWN the awkward or it will just be weird. {And yes, I may have spent some time mocking fashion bloggers. I admire what they do, but sometimes their poses leave me scratching my head.}
Now it’s your turn to link up!

I really need to do a post like this. I take a bathroom shot {almost} daily to instagram, but I haven’t done a post yet. Mostly because I feel like I wear the same damn thing over and over.
I actually love these pics taken against the green. They rock. So do you. boom.

Take a picture today, post it, and link up! We’d love to have you link up with us momma! Hell, last week, all I managed was a selfie with my stitch fix scarf. We don’t care. We just love all the community!

I do a lot of bathroom shots too. Too many probably. And i also have the same problem you do, I wear the same thing, or the same type of thing, all.the.time.
Your skinnies were super cute last week…and that was a new thing!

You are too cute. And I wear the same type of thing every day, too.
Also, you need your bio updated on here since you’re the mom of TWO now!
