With a Wink and a Wave, Goodbye

Nothing makes the earth seem so spacious as to have friends at a distance; they make the latitudes and longitudes.

                                                                                ~Henry David Thoreau

I’m not going to write a farewell letter. I’m not.

Only…I kind of am.

The truth is, this is my last post as a contributor for Liberating Working Moms. Don’t cry! It’s not you, it’s me.

I think you’ll all agree with me when I say that the knowledge I’ve gained from this little corner of the interwebs is among the most valued of my days. This group of people; like-minded & not, moms & dads, single parents & married for years, contributors & commenters…somehow we’ve all ended up here, seeking the same things. Knowledge, understanding, collaboration, a voice. We gather here to nod away as someone we may have never met takes the words right out of our clouded heads and says: we totally get it.

What started for me as hiding in a men’s bathroom at work, sneaking #urinaledition pictures, has evolved into a peace of mind that my choices are valid, my stress is real, my support system is strong, and my crazy? Well, that’s just my lifelong burden which I lovingly choose to share with the whole of the Internet.

Keep writing, ladies. Keep talking, readers. Keep offering suggestions on digging out of these trenches we call life. Be real, be vulnerable, be supportive, be snarky. I have found in my short days here on earth, that it is often what you see in the face of another which makes you recognize yourself.

Thank you for supporting me, for laughing at my super lame jokes & for encouraging the often left-of-centre life I’m trying to build.
I may be less of a fixture on these here pages, but my supreme Internet addiction and attention whoring will continue over on my personal blog, Life With Ladies- I hope you’ll come gawk point laugh join me over there too.

Thank you. So very much. What an indelible honour you have given me, I am humbled & intensified.

Yours in urinals;
Alicia
