Liberating Working Moms: A Year Later

One year ago today, I launched LWM. It’s been a long hard year as we found our voice, totally revamped our look, added new working momma’s and fought hard to create more than just a blog, but a community. I had a vision when I began, and we held steadfast to that, as a forum for working moms to find a place to shake our heads in agreement, sometimes disagree with good dialogues, but overall with a ton of fist pumps in the air, cheering each other on, offering encouraging words, and simply just being there for each other.

Really, though, I could not have done this without the amazing momma’s who contribute to LWM with not only their amazing words for publication, but marketing help, graphics support, and their 100% devotion to helping spread the word about what we are trying to accomplish over here. And to all of you who come back day after day, with your kind words, not only with your comments and tweets and FB shares, but also with your guest posts as we strive to let the complete voice of the working mom be heard, a huge thank you goes out to you. And on the cusp of this year anniversary for us, Brandee, our Assistant Editor is headed to BlogHer to further spread our LWM cause. All the things are so very exciting.

And now onto our contest. Have you seen the Working Momisms we’ve done? Well, we’d like to bring them back with some help from you. Head on over to our Facebook page, locate the status update that says, “What’s your Working Momism?” and leave us a good working mom one liner about what it’s like to be a working momma. We will narrow down submissions to five finalists, and will open it up to all of you to vote on your favorite new Working Momism. The winner will receive some LWM swag from our LWM shop, and will be featured in the post with links to all you do on the interwebs. We can’t wait to hear what you come up with!
